Start with workers, shifts, and where the work happens

Tell us the highest number of people working on site at one time, shift length, and whether permanent facilities are actually available to the crew. A small remodel near South Cooper Street and a project with multiple work zones need different placement plans. Use the construction planner for a starting point, then confirm the final layout with the person responsible for site safety.

Plan service before the first delivery

Weekly cleaning is a common starting arrangement for ongoing rentals. Ask for the first service date and the exact inclusions: pumping, interior cleaning, deodorizing, toilet paper, and sanitizer or sink replenishment. Busy crews or long shifts may require more visits. Keep fencing, material storage, and subcontractor parking away from the service approach.

Separate the first bill from recurring charges

Many construction orders use 28-day billing cycles. Confirm the first-period charge, subsequent rate, delivery charge, removal fee, and any recurring-payment authorization in the written quote. A four-week cycle is not a calendar month. If the finish date changes, contact the rental team rather than assuming an estimated date triggers collection.

High-rise, public works, and specialized sites

For elevated work, request a high-rise or crane-lift-compatible configuration explicitly. Lifting hardware and the handling method must match the approved equipment configuration. Government projects, restricted school sites, and industrial properties may require a site contact, access credentials, or a specific service window. Include those details when requesting the quote.

Construction sanitation: Review the employee-count requirements in 29 CFR 1926.51(c). Our planning guide separates the published minimums from a service-based planning count.

Questions before you rent

How many toilets does OSHA require?
The construction standard bases minimum facilities on employee count. See the cited OSHA table in our rental planner; actual planning must also account for usable, sanitary facilities and prompt access.
Will pickup happen automatically when the job ends?
Do not assume it will. For an open-ended order, request pickup and confirm the billing-stop date and collection arrangement in writing.
